Slice of Paradise – Walkabout
by Ensign Aidoann t'Riheon & Lieutenant JG Kriathiana Kyra
ON:
Aidoann covertly walked down the back corridors of the Samurai to MED lab 2. She didnt lurk in the shadows but she wasnt trying to be noticed either at this hour. She approached the med lab doors with the small capsule in her hand, clutching it tightly to the point where it almost cracked.
She surreptitiously crept into the lab without a sound besides the muffled sounds of the doors opening slightly. She crept over to the medicine cabinent with the capsule in hand, ready to open it when she was blinded by the light of the LAB's lights coming on.
Doctor Kyra had been working late. So late, in fact, that she had fallen asleep at her desk. She rose from her chair and walked around her desk. Coming out of her office, she headed in to the main sickbay area. The gamma shift staff had long since come on duty, but none of them were required to be in the main sickbay area. She manually adjusted the lighting levels widening her eyes as she did so to take in more light. And as she did so she noticed a figure standing in sickbay. "Ensign," she began cautiously, identifying the young JAG officer's rank. "Can I help you?"
Aidoann grinced as she turned around to face the Doctor, she normally would have been quick to come up with something but she shuttered first, giving her self away as someone who shouldnt be here.
Kyra eyed the young Romulan suspiciously. Against all her people's social influence, her natural position was to trust people, regardless of their native species, but something wasn't right here. "I'm sorry," she pressed, "are you unwell?" She took a few steps toward the ensign. "Would you like me to take a look at you?" She was almost sure that she wouldn't, but she was prepared to give the benefit of the doubt - at least for the time being.
"Ah, no no, I just ah...............................thought I forgot something." She said, rocking back on her heels and clasping her hands behind her back.
As t'Riheon made her excuses and slid out of the room, Kyra moved over and closed the cabinet, taking a cursory glance to ensure that nothing was missing. Nothing immediately caught her attention, but as she turned and looked at the closed door that the young ensign had just left through, she couldn't help but wonder what that whole episode was all about...
